About Instructor Steve Drake

Steve Drake is an accredited instructor with the Self Defense Company with over 35 years of experience in Mixed Martial Arts and Self Defense.

At the age of 13 he studied in Karate, and admits his quest in Karate was more about winning tournaments than learning the art and discipline, his drive led him to join the Professional Karate Association as a successful fighter and instructor.

In addition to Karate Steve also has over eight years experience in Jeet Kune Do and credits Sifu Martin Sterling for the huge impact that he has made on his own coaching style and methods,

Steve's own journey has seen him appearing on local radio and T.V. and contributing to industry Press and publications. He says teaching Mixed Martial Arts is both fun and rewarding, but teaching self defense is my responsibility and now shares this knowledge through both public and private lessons.

His recent Self Defense workshops have helped many individuals, like you, realize the confidence and potential they didn't know they had using basic easy to learn concepts influenced by the teachings of the late Mr. Carl Cestari and his approach to practical self-defense.

The Self Defense Company is a continuation of Carl Cestari's combative legacy. I am very proud to be associated with it and Damian Ross who carries Carl's mantle with honor and integrity.
